What is the difference between EMDR and the modality I currently use?

EMDR is different from most talk therapies. In talk therapy, your client talks about their experience. With EMDR, your client will have their experience again in front of you.

Is EMDR hypnosis?

No. Hypnosis puts the client in a trance like state where the therapist does most/ all the talking. EMDR activates images, thoughts, feelings, and even body sensations and the therapist says very little.
